Company Overview

Vidaris, a SOCOTEC company, provides niche consulting services for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction companies. In 2019, the SOCOTEC Group, a leader in construction inspection for the construction and infrastructure sectors, completed the acquisition of Vidaris to broaden the company’s service offerings, which today include specialty engineering, inspection, project advisory, and dispute resolution across the US.

Scott Lekovish is the Financial Systems Manager for SOCOTEC US, responsible for the firm’s Deltek environment and other accounting applications, including the configuration and reporting. Additionally, he is integral to the onboarding and data migration process during M&A.

Already an EleVia customer, Scott knew there was only one solution -- EVPay.

Challenges

SOCOTEC most recently acquired a Florida-based engineering company. Along with the typical responsibilities when merging companies, Scott needed a quick solution to another challenge -- implementing a payment solution where customers could pay invoices via credit card or ACH. Before this acquisition, the team did not accept credit card payments. Scott and his team had to find a solution that would fully integrate with the Deltek environment, but one that could be implemented quickly to not disrupt upcoming projects

Why EleVia Software

Quick Implementation

Prior to the SOCOTEC acquisition, Scott and his team used EleVia’s Electronic Invoicing solution. One email to the EVPay team and the EleVia team began the implementation process within twelve hours. “It was powerful to have the EleVia team ready to respond and be so nimble, along with their partner INGAGE iPayments. The combination of both parties together made this implementation successful because we were up and running in under two weeks,” said Scott.

Ability to Take on New Projects

“One of the engineering company's key services is inspections, and they typically need to be completed within a certain time frame. The challenge is that the team must be paid beforehand. The beauty of EVPay is that customers can conveniently make a secure ACH or card payment using the “Pay Now” link generated by EVPay. Payment confirmations are instantaneous for both parties. The overall process is simple, clean, and easy to use,” said Scott.

Keep Accounts Receivable (AR) Low with Immediate Payment Options

SOCOTEC US now has an easy and secure portal for customers to pay, which maintains low A/R balances and aging. Invoices in arrears can quickly and easily be resent, which helps with revenue realization on aged invoices.

Efficiency Gains

“The final invoice packaging process can be very laborious. Now, using EVPay, it only takes a few seconds for our staff to package and send an invoice to the customers, with a link to make a payment – it’s that easy,” said Scott. “It’s a great way to shorten our DSO and having the unposted cash receipt files on the backend eliminates countless hours that would have been spent reconciling payments to invoices.”
